Pool Building Process

permits and drawings

Before beginning the pool building process, a construction permit from the city is needed before any construction can begin. We include a 3D rendering of each pool and outdoor space to visualize your designs better.

excavation

Pool excavation is the process of digging out the hole for your pool and/or spa. Heavy machinery including excavators are involved to move dirt and rocks around to build the initial shape of the pool.

rebar

Rebar, also known as reinforced steel bars, is a key part to aiding the concrete of the pool. The rebar provides a better bond for the concrete allowing it to provide the pool with better strength and durability.

plumbing

Pool plumbing consists of pipes, typically PVC, that are buried underground. Plumbing is used to connect the pool with the filter equipment.

shotcrete

Shotcrete is a concrete mixture that is sprayed on top of the rebar framing through a hose.

tile and coping

Tile and coping are added next, they come in a large variety of options from which you can choose from ranging from different colors, styles, and textures. Tile is added just above the waterline for a pool to protect the pool structure along the waterline. Coping is a material that surrounds the edge of the pool, above the tile line, that assist in protecting the pool ledge.

plaster

Plaster is put on top of the concrete in a similar way. Plaster finishes are available in a variety of textures and colors including, glass, ceramic, pebble and many more. This is applied to give the pool an aesthetic appeal that best suits your taste and to protective the pool and increase its lifespan.

water

The final step in the pool building process is adding the water! Water is slowly added and typically takes a day to fill up completely. After adding water, it is recommended to wait few weeks before swimming to let the plaster settle.
